This is a real gem of a museum. They are so family friendly, I love it! They do a great job of telling the stories of Mahone Bay throughout history and preserving the area's heritage. The staff are really helpful. Their research room is open to the public too. It's a must-see in Mahone Bay!
We visited Mahone Bay Museum a few days ago. We had a lovely experience! One of the employees, Curtis, jumped at the chance to tell us more information about our background as the museum had a lot of information pertaining to our family. We really appreciate the time the staff spent with us! We look forward to going again!
What a quaint little museum. Our guide was very enthusiastic and offered lots of tips for visiting the area. We really liked learning the history of Mahone Bay and the Lunenburg area.
The museum is located in an interesting house built in the 1800's so it is past 150 years. It has some interesting names of early settlers to Mahone Bay, look to see if any of your relatives arrived many years ago. The museum is small, friendly and takes you back in time.
this was a nice little place we happened to fall upon just walking down the main strip of mahone bay! loved all the things they had to learn and all the history the gold fish was really cute too! the staff were so helpful! they had great things for kids to do also!
